2025 Legislative Session

Senate President James Coleman and other Democratic leaders introduced measures aimed at increasing the availability of modular housing, limiting child-care costs, and enabling state and local governments to build affordable housing.  Additionally, there is a renewed push for construction-defects reform and legislation to prohibit landlords' use of price-setting algorithms that may drive up rent costs. Republican leaders, including Senate Minority Leader Paul Lundeen and House Minority Leader Rose Pugliese, emphasized the need to reduce fees and regulations they believe contribute to the high cost of living and doing business in Colorado. They called for reviewing and eliminating excessive or duplicative regulations to enhance economic competitiveness and alleviate financial burdens on residents.
